One-click cleanup after imports or double-saves.

Imports and browser extensions sometimes create two bookmarks for the same URL (with or without a trailing slash). Cowpin can find those groups and merge them while keeping tags, notes, and the best archive snapshot.
Scan and merge
- Open Settings → Account → Bookmarks (direct link).
- Under Duplicate URLs, click Scan for duplicates.
- For each group, choose which bookmark to keep, then Merge group, or use Merge all for the listed groups.
Merging deletes the extra rows and moves tags and highlights onto the keeper. This cannot be undone — export first if you are unsure.
When to run a scan
- After a Pinboard, Karakeep, or Pocket import
- If search feels noisy (same article saved twice)
- From Insights, when Cowpin reports duplicate URL groups
API / automation
Duplicate detection uses the same URL normalization as imports (normalizeImportUrl). There is no public REST endpoint yet; use the in-app scan or the tRPC procedures backing Settings (listDuplicateUrlGroups, mergeDuplicateUrlGroup).
